Today, our "Bridge" brought us back to the ranch at Dixza Rugs & Native Farm. It’s a place that doesn't just welcome you; it grounds you. We came here to see our hermano Sam and his family, but we left with something much heavier and more beautiful: a reminder of what it actually means to be human.

The feeling of the day: If I had to describe Sam in a word, it’s empathy. He lives the way we try to cook—with a deep, sincere connection to the roots. Watching his family work their craft, weaving stories into wool, you realize that Oaxaca and Crete aren't that far apart. Both cultures understand that the best things in life are made by hand and shared at a table.

The highlight: Getting back into their kitchen. There is a sacredness to cooking for "sincere souls." No fancy equipment, no ego—just fire, local ingredients, and the joy of feeding people who feel like home.

We didn't just share a meal; we shared energy. We’re leaving the ranch today feeling lighter, inspired, and deeply grateful.

Until next time, Teotitlán.

Notes from the Road:

  • Currently Listening To: The rhythm of the looms at the farm.
  • The Scent of the Moment: Roasted chiles and wild mountain herbs.
  • A Thought to Carry: True luxury isn't a place; it's the empathy we show one another.
